Galapagos

We learned about evolution and adaptation as our topic for the term mostly thanks to David Attenborough and an old Dino vid from like 1995.

The main concept in adaptation is where a living organism has a change in its surroundings and needs to change to fit into its surroundings. Like if the floor was lava us humans would have to ether but resistant to lava or be able to fly of live off the floor.

So we would live to be able to do one of those things by trial and error so if you died your genes would die of not being to cope with lava. But if you lived because you could fly your offspring would hopefully have the ability to fly too.

The Galapagos islands was where the theory of this really kicked off and became a realty. It was fun learning about the funny and different adaptations some animals had. I can only hope we can have another good topic next term too.
